Reinforced foam blocks (fibrobenoblok): options for reinforcement of masonry and walls of foam blocks

Currently, the foam block is in great demand in the construction market. The material has many positive characteristics, but has one drawback - weak strength. Therefore, foam block walls need to be reinforced. A common material for reinforcement is reinforcement or a special mesh. They are placed in the solution between the rows of masonry. With the development of new technologies for the manufacture of foam blocks began to use polymer fibers. The result was a reinforced block of increased strength - fibroenoblok. Today we will take a closer look at this material, as well as get acquainted with various methods of reinforcing foam blocks.

Fiberglass reinforced foam block

Reinforced blocks - what is it?

The main additives of reinforced blocks are fiberglass, basalt or metal fiber, polymer fiber, roving.Making fiber block, in the cement-sand mixture add 1% of the fiber of the total solution. When mixing, the fiber is evenly distributed throughout the solution, which significantly increases the strength of the foam block. The most common blocks with the following additives:

  • fibrobenoblok with polypropylene fiber is resistant to abrasion. The block has a high resistance to thermal and mechanical stress;
  • fibrobenoblok with basalt fiber resistant to vibration and shock.

Apply fibroenoblok for the construction of load-bearing walls, installation of buildings on unstable soils and lightweight foundations for the construction of internal partitions, insulation of houses.

Fibroelectric concrete

For the rapid construction of buildings used fibroenoblok coated with decorative cladding. The variety of textures of the block includes about 50 species. Facing imitates marble, stone, brick. For the convenience of laying each block has a groove-ridge lock. At the end of the laying fibrobenoblok painted with acrylic or silicone paint. Facing the wall becomes the color of natural material.

Reinforced foam walls

Weak characteristics of the strength of the material require the reinforcement of the walls of foam blocks when performing any masonry. Properly chosen material for reinforcement will rid the foam block wall from faults, making it much stronger. The most vulnerable are the interior walls of the building, as their masonry is made of thin blocks. There are many methods to strengthen foam walls. We consider the most common, which are used in the present.

Reinforcement of walls with reinforcement

Strengthening of foam block masonry with reinforcement is mainly used for the external walls of the building. Rods with a diameter of 10-12 mm are laid on every 4th row. Also separately strengthen the rows with door and window lintels. Reinforcement perform in the following order:

  1. When the laying of a whole row is completed, grooves are made with a special tool - a wall chaser in the blocks. The tool can be used manual or powered by electricity.
  2. For strobe make markup on the upper plane of the laying. On both sides of the blocks, at a distance of 70 mm from the edge, marking is applied so that two parallel lines are obtained. By marking a wall chaser cut the grooves and clean them with a brush from dust.
  3. In the grooves impose a solution. The reinforcement is laid on top, pressing it into the groove flush with the upper plane of the foam block. The laying of the following rows occurs on the adhesive mixture on top of the reinforced row.

Reinforcement of thin stripe walls

The laying of thin walls inside the room and partitions are reinforced with a strip of galvanized metal with a section of 8x1.5 mm. Under laying the strip is not required shtrobit groove. It is placed between the foam blocks on the adhesive mixture. To increase the strength of the 2 bands make the frame, weaving them together with wire.

Strengthening of window and door lintels

Foam blocks above window and door lintels are more vulnerable to cracking. Reinforce jumpers can U-shaped blocks. Their width is selected in accordance with the thickness of the masonry. The shape of the block has 2 side walls, one of which is thicker. This wall block is placed on the outer side of the wall.

U-shaped foam block

U-shaped foam blocks replace concrete formwork. Putting them can hardly be poured jumper required length. The main thing is that the depth of its emphasis was not less than 200 mm. U-shaped foam blocks are laid according to the following method:

  1. Under the blocks in the opening set a temporary backup ofwooden beam or metal profile.
  2. A stack of blocks in one row is cut up from the top of the support. All seams are connected with adhesive mixture.
  3. In the resulting tray stack frame of reinforcement. The diameter of the rods are selected individually for the calculated load.
  4. The tray with the frame is poured with concrete, leveling the surface of the foam block flush.

Strengthening blocks near openings

Strengthening foam blocks located at the edges of door and window openings, perform reinforcement with a diameter of about 5 mm. The grooves for rods are made with a margin so that after pouring them with mortar, the thickness of the reinforcement does not exceed 12 mm. This is necessary for the subsequent insulation of openings.

It is easier to strengthen the extreme blocks of openings with special corner reinforcement. In addition to strengthening the masonry, corner fittings help to build even corners.

Grid masonry reinforcement

Relevant is foam block, reinforced reinforcing mesh. Its design consists of rods with a diameter of 5-6 mm, welded or interconnected in cells. The grid is used in the event that the laying of blocks does not occur on the adhesive mixture, but on the cement mortar.Mesh reinforce every 3rd row of masonry, if the wall thickness reaches 200 mm. Walls over 300 mm thick are reinforced with a grid every 4 rows of masonry. The mesh reinforcing wall is laid in grooves cut by a grinder on the blocks. The grid with large cells requires a smaller groove, but its use is not always advisable.

For amplification, roll grid is also used. It is laid from the 1st row. Then every 3-4 rows of masonry, and in the upper 2 rows.

Reinforcement basalt mesh

If it is impossible to strengthen the wall with a mesh, polypropylene fiber is laid into the solution. The material enhances the characteristics of the foam block, increases the heat and sound insulation.

Construction of the reinforcing belt

Many builders, erecting foam concrete walls, are limited only to reinforcement. Construction of the reinforcing belt is abandoned due to savings. It is not right. After all, the design of the belt distributes the load from the reinforced concrete floor slabs.

For the manufacture of armored around the perimeter of the wall build formwork with a height of 150 mm. Inside of the reinforcement with a diameter of 8-10 mm, the framework is knitted in width slightly less than the wall thickness. Four rods are distributed at the corners, and one is centered. The formwork is poured with concrete M-200 and left to freeze. In multi-storey buildings, Armopoyas is erected at each level, and the latter is under the roof. At the same time in the last belt lay anchor for mounting rafters.

During the construction of buildings, the reinforcement of foam blocks is the key to longevity and strength of the walls.
