The main additives of reinforced blocks are fiberglass, basalt or metal fiber, polymer fiber, roving.Making fiber block, in the cement-sand mixture add 1% of the fiber of the total solution. Strengthening of foam block masonry with reinforcement is mainly used for the external walls of the building. Rods with a diameter of 10-12 mm are laid on every 4th row. Also separately strengthen the rows with door and window lintels. Reinforcement perform in the following order:

  1. When the laying of a whole row is completed, grooves are made with a special tool - a wall chaser in the blocks. The tool can be used manual or powered by electricity.
  2. For strobe make markup on the upper plane of the laying. On both sides of the blocks, at a distance of 70 mm from the edge, marking is applied so that two parallel lines are obtained. By marking a wall chaser cut the grooves and clean them with a brush from dust.
  3. In the grooves impose a solution. The reinforcement is laid on top, pressing it into the groove flush with the upper plane of the foam block. The laying of the following rows occurs on the adhesive mixture on top of the reinforced row.

Reinforcement of thin stripe walls

The laying of thin walls inside the room and partitions are reinforced with a strip of galvanized metal with a section of 8x1.5 mm. Under laying the strip is not required shtrobit groove. Strengthening foam blocks located at the edges of door and window openings, perform reinforcement with a diameter of about 5 mm. The grooves for rods are made with a margin so that after pouring them with mortar, the thickness of the reinforcement does not exceed 12 mm. This is necessary for the subsequent insulation of openings.

It is easier to strengthen the extreme blocks of openings with special corner reinforcement. In addition to strengthening the masonry, corner fittings help to build even corners.

Grid masonry reinforcement

Relevant is foam block, reinforced reinforcing mesh. Its design consists of rods with a diameter of 5-6 mm, welded or interconnected in cells. The grid is used in the event that the laying of blocks does not occur on the adhesive mixture, but on the cement mortar.Mesh reinforce every 3rd row of masonry, if the wall thickness reaches 200 mm. Walls over 300 mm thick are reinforced with a grid every 4 rows of masonry. The mesh reinforcing wall is laid in grooves cut by a grinder on the blocks. The grid with large cells requires a smaller groove, but its use is not always advisable.

For amplification, roll grid is also used. It is laid from the 1st row. Then every 3-4 rows of masonry, and in the upper 2 rows.

Reinforcement basalt mesh

If it is impossible to strengthen the wall with a mesh, polypropylene fiber is laid into the solution. The material enhances the characteristics of the foam block, increases the heat and sound insulation.

Construction of the reinforcing belt

Many builders, erecting foam concrete walls, are limited only to reinforcement. Construction of the reinforcing belt is abandoned due to savings. It is not right. After all, the design of the belt distributes the load from the reinforced concrete floor slabs.

For the manufacture of armored around the perimeter of the wall build formwork with a height of 150 mm. Inside of the reinforcement with a diameter of 8-10 mm, the framework is knitted in width slightly less than the wall thickness.
